Mark A. Vieira is a photographer and writer.
Mark makes glamour portraits in the classic Hollywood mode, working in the historic Granada Buildings, where George Hurrell had his first Los Angeles studio. Mark’s portfolio includes of Jack Lemmon, Danny Glover and Leslie Mann. In January 2019, a show mounted in the Fine Arts Building by Art Meets Architecture celebrated Mark’s 50th year as a photographer.
Mark writes about the artists, genres, and photographic technique of Hollywood’s Golden Era. He has written 17 books since 1988, giving voices to George Hurrell, Tony Curtis, Boris Karloff, Greta Garbo, Irving Thalberg, Joan Crawford and Norma Shearer. He publicizes his books with exhibitions of photographs that he prints by hand from original Hollywood negatives. His latest book is Forbidden Hollywood, published by Running Press with Turner Classic Movies.
