The Hollywood Heritage Museum is housed in the beautifully restored Lasky-DeMille Barn (c. 1895). The Museum features archival photographs from the silent film days of motion picture production, movie props, historic documents and other rare movie memorabilia. Also featured are historic photos and postcards of the streets, buildings and residences of Hollywood during its golden era.

On December 27, 1956, the Lasky-DeMille Barn was designated a California State Historic Landmark, No. 554, representing the birth of the Hollywood motion picture industry where in 1913 Jesse Lasky and Cecil B. DeMille began production of the first feature-length film to be shot in Hollywood, The Squaw Man (1914). Since 1985 Hollywood Heritage Inc. has funded the preservation, restoration and maintenance of this early Hollywood treasure. The organization also works to protect and preserve the historic built environment of Hollywood by actively interacting with city, state and federal agencies and by educating the public through its “Evening @ The Barn” programs on historical topics regarding preservation and film history.

On Wednesday, April 10th at 9:30pm, Hollywood Heritage and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will present a very special “Evening @ The Barn” with a program of “At Home And On The Road With Gypsy Rose Lee.” Tickets can be purchased by visiting
